“Conversaciones Expandidas vol. 1” is a vibrant and provocative publication, the result of the project Abrir Monte: relación de aspecto, carried out by La Vulcanizadora in 2021 with the support of the Centro de Memoria, Paz y Reconciliación. This book is a fascinating journey through notions of revolution, explored from Colombia and other latitudes of the global south, traversing experimental film and contemporary art as territory for unraveling and preserving historical memory and histories of resistance.
Among the participants are Elena Pardo from Mexico's Laboratorio Experimental de Cine LEC, writer and film critic Pedro Adrián Zuluaga, the Colectivo Los Ingrávidos, the Sensolab project, Oscar Guarín, Marta Cabrera, historian Paolo Vignolo, the Colectivo Antes Muerto Cine, film programmer Almudena Escobar, artist and researcher Fernando Escobar, museologist Paula Torrado, thus generating a variety of encounters that challenge the boundaries of the imagination of the future. This book is part of those actions.
